Cadzow Website Inaccessible

Problem

When accessing the Cadzow website, you receive the following error:

  • “The page cannot be displayed
    The page you are looking for is currently unavailable. The Web site might be experiencing technical difficulties, or you may need to adjust your browser settings.”

and

  • “Cannot find server or DNS Error”

Solution

This may occur if your network contains a web proxy or firewall which restricts access to services on non-standard ports.

The Cadzow website is operated on port 15384. The default port for web sites is 80 (8080 is also common).

We have chosen a non-standard port due to the prevalence of internet worms and viruses which routinely probe websites on the default ports. Although our webserver is secured against internet worms, allowing traffic through port 80 clogs our connection with useless traffic and this affects performance for legitimate users.

To gain access to the Cadzow website, ask your network administrator to allow outbound access to port 15384.
