Resolving STOP 0xCF Errors
STOP 0x000000CF (TERMINAL_SERVER_DRIVER_MADE_INCORRECT_MEMORY_REFERENCE) is essentially a video driver issue that may occur when rebooting a machine from or after a Remote Desktop session.
The general remedy is as follows:
- Check Windows Update for an updated video driver.
- If none, or if problem persists, check the graphics vendor or PC vendor website for updated drivers.
- If none, or if problem persists, uninstall the video driver, uninstall all the companion software and reboot.
Upon restarting, the system may automatically reinstall the driver or may prompt for the source files.
- If this doesn't help, install an older video driver.
