Using A Trusted Certificate on Windows Remote Desktop / Terminal Services

To use a trusted certificate on Windows Server Remote Desktop (Terminal Services):

Windows 2008 R2

  1. Open All ProgramsAdministrative ToolsRemote Desktop ServicesRemote Desktop Session Host Configuration.

  2. Under Connections, double-click RDP-Tcp.

  3. Under the General tab, choose Select.

    Select the desired certificate.

  4. Ensure Security Layer is set to Negotiate or SSL (TLS 1.0).

  5. Click OK.

Windows 2008

  1. Open All ProgramsAdministrative ToolsTerminal ServicesTerminal Services Configuration.

  2. Under Connections, double-click RDP-Tcp.

  3. Under the General tab, choose Select.

    Select the desired certificate.

  4. Ensure Security Layer is set to Negotiate or SSL (TLS 1.0).

  5. Click OK.
