Outlook Express Drops Connection When Downloading Email
When downloading email with a dial-up connection, Outlook Express disconnects.
This will happen if you have several dial-up connectoids on your system and you are connected to the internet with one and Outlook Express is configured to use another.
This can be corrected as follows:
- Open Outlook Express.
- Go to Tools → Accounts.
- Click on the Mail tab.
- Click on the account name and choose Properties.
- Click the Connection tab.
- Turn off Always connect to this account using ….
- Choose OK.
- Repeat for any other email accounts.
- Choose Close.
Outlook Express should now use the current internet connection when downloading email.
