Problem Opening Microsoft Outlook

When attempting to open Microsoft Outlook, you receive an error dialog “Unable to open the Outlook window”, and Outlook does not open.

This may occur if the OutlPrnt file is damaged or corrupt.

To resolve, delete or rename the file, then open Outlook.

Under Windows 2000/XP/2003, the file is located at C:\Documents and Settings\<Username>\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook.

Under Windows Vista/7, the file is located at C:\Users\<Username>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Outlook.

Alternatively, on Windows 2000 and above, open a command prompt and type:

ren %APPDATA%\Microsoft\Outlook\OutlPrnt *.was
